Installing the NTR Service Desk Service on Windows 7

Installation of NTRadmin_XX.msi on a Windows 7 system

Instructions

When installing the NTR Service Desk _XX.msi file, generated via the NTR Service Desk console, on a Windows 7 system, the install might fail. This is commonly caused by the installer not being run with elevated privileges (e.g., as an administrator).

Work around:

  1. Start the installer by CTRL+Right-click, choose Run As and then run it with the administrator account.
  2. Start the installer with elevated privileges via a command prompt by using the following syntax:
    runas /user:mymachine\administrator C:\PATHOF\WHERETHEINSTALLER\ISLOCATED\NTRadmin_XX.msi

For additional information on using the runas command, please type "runas" and press enter at the command prompt.

NOTE: If you are experiencing constant prompts to install the ActiveX component on an Windows 7 system this can be solved by re-installing the NTR Service Desk Service using the instructions above.
